Last month, we met “Cath, not cat.” =P This month, Meet Bryan! With a Y. =D
A few days ago, we had managed to catch a breath with Bryan Yong the Werewolf – the system admin by day, a friendly werewolf by night. A little snippet about him, he’s the man behind those figures (we meant numbers) and those jigsaw puzzle mathematical…stuff!
Here’s how he describes his daily routine with us, “Every morning I come into the office and type away on my computer, this is where I go crunching numbers and updating reports, with a glass of water – sometimes Milo (The Groupon Mug!) and snacks ever ready in hand. It sounds a tad little boring, but I just love figuring out how things work and fitting them like a jigsaw puzzle!”

I don’t exactly have a toy to play with, but I have my keyboard. It’s got to be my favourite ,though I’m not exactly skilled at it. Still, I’ve got enough to enjoy myself! =D
Ever tried sneezing with your mouth closed? What happened after that?
Lol, lots of time~! The first time I tried it, mucus blew out of my nose like a volcano eruption! After that, I’ll always carry a handkerchief or tissue in case of emergencies – like this~! XD
Favourite song when you were 16?
Wow, that was a long while back. I’d say “At The Beginning” by Richard Marx and Donnw Lewis. I joined a camp that year and this was represented the whole experience for me. It was one of the song we sang during that time that got stuck in my mind. What else happened there? Not telling. =P
A Sesame Streets character that best describes you? Why?
He’s definitely an Ernie. We don’t know why, but Ernie comes to mind! =P

Tell us how you joined Groupon.
I was browsing blog.groupon.my one day, and happen to come across an article with descriptions to life on the other side. Something clicked at that moment (maybe the mouse…my fingers twitch sometimes) and next thing I know, I’ve got an interview! Life’s cool like that.
Thus far, what do you like about your job?
My job involves long hours in front of the computer, but also plenty of interaction with others. I get to mix around with people from different departments and learn how they do their job. In the process, I get to understand different perspectives and methods of solving issues at hand, while being able to share the insights I’ve learnt with others. It’s really an amazing role to learn and improve, yet be able to teach at the same time.
Anything to say to the readers out there?
I believe the most important thing in life is to have fun. It doesn’t matter if you derive it from reading thoughtful articles, watching comedies with friends, having a candlelight dinner with loved ones, or cuddling together on a long cold night. Whatever gives you pleasure and satisfaction (in a way that harms none), Go for it! My favourite quote in life is…
…”Life is meant to be enjoyed”, so fill every moment with happiness!
